Top 3 Vegan Restaurants in LA

August 15, 2018

Many living in Westchester CA apartments have chosen to go vegan for a wide variety of reasons that can differ from person-to-person. Some people start out going vegan because they truly love animals and they would never want to see any harm come to any of them, even the ones that people consider to be food – newsflash they aren’t!

On the other hand, other people start out going vegan because they are suffering from severe and debilitating health problems and they’ve learned that one of the easiest ways to overcome many chronic conditions is to change their diet and eliminate meat and dairy from their plate. Most of the world hasn’t discovered the benefits of a vegan diet just yet, but things are definitely changing and you certainly see more and more vegan foods being offered in restaurants, supermarkets, and everywhere else food is provided.

For vegans, this is an amazing turn of events because there are finally a wide range of delicious vegan restaurants to choose from in Los Angeles and other parts of the country. So vegans no longer have to beg wait staffs and chefs in restaurants to create special dishes for them.

With such a wide influx of vegan restaurants popping up all over the place, they can go into any number of restaurants and order directly off the menu without asking for special treatment. This is certainly a wonderful thing for vegans and they are very happy with this current trend that doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

With that said, now that so many vegan restaurants are popping up all over the place, some options are definitely going to be better than others. We’d like to share our favorite LA vegan restaurants with you today, so if you’re looking for some good endorsements, we highly recommend sticking around to discover our favorite choices.

Shojin

As far as vegan restaurants go, Shojin in DTLA is definitely a favorite amongst the vegan community for a number of different reasons. For starters, many vegans like to bring their dates to this macrobiotic vegan sushi restaurant. It is a fine dining experience in Little Tokyo that has an exciting menu with lots of amazing creations.

They also make it a point to let you know that their menu does not have any artificial colors, chemical seasonings, or chemical preservatives. They want you to know that not only does this food taste great, it’s also some of the healthiest stuff on the planet to enjoy and your body is not going to be filled with harmful chemicals that do not belong there in the first place.

Some of the best choices on their vegan meat and dairy free menu include sweet orange chicken, cauliflower steaks with polenta, spicy “tuna” on crispy rice, Romaine taco salad, coconut “bacon” Caesar salad, summer rainbow miso soup, truffle Ramen, spicy Ramen revolution, baked “crab cake”, spicy egg scallop roll, and other delicious menu choices.

If you love vegan food and you love Asian fusion cuisine, then you are definitely going to enjoy this fine dining establishment. It’s in the heart of DTLA and it has an amazing reputation that you’ll soon discover for yourself once you give it a try.

By Chloe

The famous New York eatery By Chloe has made its way to Silver Lake in LA. This is one of the hottest vegan restaurants in town and the owner Samantha Wasser really knows her stuff.

The interesting thing about this particular vegan restaurant is that it is actual vegan fast food. And you can visit this location inside of the Whole Foods Market 365, so it’s really easy to find.

They created some truly interesting and exciting fast food choices that you may have never even thought of. Some of the exciting options on their menu include sweet potato mac & cheese, quinoa hash browns, portobello meatball sandwiches, and so many more delicious choices.

In fact, other awesome options on their menu include the detox kale salad, sesame ginger soba, green hummus, smoothie bowl, the guac burger, the classic burger, whiskey barbecue which is smoked portobello mushroom and seitan topped with pineapple, onion marmalade, sautéed kale, bourbon BBQ, and it’s all stacked up on a potato bun.

Or you may prefer the smashed avocado toast, the daily soup including options like curried corn and cauliflower soup with roasted cashews, or one of their delicious pasta dishes including mac & cheese made with a cashew cheese sauce, or the avocado pesto pasta with almond parmesan and grape tomato.

Seabirds Kitchen

Our final recommendation is pretty interesting because it was a Long Beach taco truck that they turn into a restaurant. Seabirds Kitchen has really outdone themselves and put some exciting and innovative dishes on their menu.

And speaking of their menu, some of their more popular dishes include burnt brussels sprouts, purple taquitos, old town grilled cheese, beer battered avo taco, local bowls with brown rice, Korean jackfruit, fermented cauliflower, fried kimchi, and other great options. They serve stuffed shells, meatball pizza, and churros waffles for dessert along with chocolate cake, tiramisu, carrot cake, and plenty of other sweet treats.

Remember, everything on their menu is 100% vegan so you don’t have to worry about asking if meat or dairy is on the menu because it isn’t. Even though many of the foods seem like they might be part of a carnivore diet, they aren’t because they are veg friendly creations made just for vegans like you and other members of your community.
